(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) Don’t fear! Old Man Rafferty’s on Albany Street is only temporarily closed. Owner Mark Jakuboski likened the winter shutdown to hibernation.
“Needless to say, it’s been a challenging year for the restaurant industry. In anticipation of some tough times looming ahead, we must hibernate our restaurants for a short period of time in the upcoming months to survive. We didn’t close our doors forever,” he said.
Old Man Rafferty’s has set an opening date for early spring, according to Jakuboski. In the meantime, he is going to refocus on expanding and plans to invest more in outside dining, he said.
Though temporarily closed, Old Man Rafferty’s Hillsborough location will continue to offer business and home delivery with a minimum purchase requirement of $50.
Though its restaurant awnings in Kilmer Square announce that it was “established not too long ago,” the Hub City favorite is fast approaching its 50th anniversary.
